With the Emergence of iSpirt will get disjointed from Nasscom?

No comments :

Nasscom (National Association of Software and Services Companies) was established in 1988 by the trade association of Indian Information Technology (IT) and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) to simplify business and trade in software and services and to encourage development of research in software technology. It is a non-profit organization with over 1200 members.

From the recent newsflash which is taking place in IT industry, is the emergence of ‘iSpirt’ i.e. Indian Software Product Industry Round Table. Thirty Indian software product companies have come together to form this new association, making their first break from the anthology IT and its technologies – Nasscom, and replicating the growing confidence and maturity of the software product community.

The 30 founding members of this organization which are mainly associated; is currently led by Bharat Goenka, co-founder of Tally Solutions, Sharad Sharma, former head of Yahoo India R&D, startup mentor and founder of Brand Sigma, Naveen Tewari, founder of In-Mobi , and Vishnu Dusad, founder of Nucleus Software.

Why there was a need of this new ‘iSpirt’ association?

According to the members, their aim is to transform India into a hub for new generation software products and solutions. Therefore, it is important to address government policy, create market catalysts and grow the maturity of product entrepreneurs. Since the risks are high and industry is moving very fast, a reactive “Ivory Tower” approach cannot flourish here. Additionally, to top-down policy recommendations, the hive mind of the industry must be leveraged to support conversations for grassroots involvement and actions.

What they are planning to do?

They mainly focus on the following points –

1. They are  trying to convert idea into policy proposals to take government stakeholders
2. They are trying to convert conversation to playbook for the product entrepreneurs
3. They are planning to convert on-the-ground learning’s to operating principles for self help communities in product industry.

The vision and mission of this association is really impressive but still Nasscom tends to be dominated by IT services companies including the BPO companies in the coming days. Another important thing is that Nasscom will support iSpirt in every possible way and there will be no conflict within these organizations.

Right now iSpirt's other members include Capillary Technologies, Eka Software, QuickHeal, FusionCharts, OrangeScape, One97, Kayako.com, iCreate, Komli Media, Data Infocom, Srishti Software, Rategain, Drishti Software, CIIE, Greytip, Infrasoft, NewGen, Pramati, Practo, Sapience and IIM Bangalore, as also some individual numbers. It may open up to more members later in this year.

Every industry whether, it’s an IT or non-IT company always look for its development and growth. The prospective given by this association seems to be impressive. Let’s see what there in the coming future. Right now, all we can say is that we hope for the best and results stated should turn out into positive and remarkable one.
